I came upon this website on a whim yesterday, when I, also on a whim, discovered the Uberman sleep schedule. It seemed so fascinating that I had trouble taking my eyes off the screen for half an hour, even though I was on my way to going to bed.

I've discovered that I sleep more than my friends. And yes, I know it's very individual how much sleep you need (or at least what your brain thinks you need), but it bothers me. I usually lie awake for quite some time before I fall asleep, and I'm a bit tired during the day. I sleep about 7-8 hours during weekdays, and 9-11 hours during the weekends. The fact that how much sleep I get during the weekend is different from how much sleep I get during weekdays is, I guess, not that good. During the weekends I don't use an alarm clock, so I sleep until I wake up naturally (redundancy ftw). I also have trouble falling asleep during the bus ride to the school I go to (which is about 40 minutes), but most people fall asleep so easy. Would napping during the bus ride, both to and from school, be smart to use as one of the naps during a schedule?

I go to school (16 years old), so the Uberman schedule wouldn't really be good for me, considering I can't take 20 minute naps during the day. I'm planning on taking the IB Diploma next year, which demands a lot from the student, so I will be spending a lot of time on homework. But- I love free time, and I'm basically addicted to having more than a few hours of time to do whatever I want every day (I usually have more than that, but yeah).

So in conclusion I need advice on what I should do. Any advice or comment is greatly appreciated. I have thought of becoming an early riser (http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/05/how-to-become-an-early-riser/), and maybe gradually starting some schedule. Everyman, maybe?
